Recently had the joyful experience of selling a motor vehicle online.
Did all the google stuff, listed the car on a few Australian websites that
sold cars (and some that didn’t) and waited for the rush.
It was a bit slow off the mark but I got a couple of genuine enquiries and
happily dealt with them, answering questions and providing images.
Then the flood started,
Who would have imagined that there were so many Marine Engineers sailing the
oceans of the world and wanting to buy a car for their father, mother, wife
or girlfriend.
They were all at sea and could not inspect the vehicle but would happily
send their representative from the UK or Romania or Malaysia to pick it up,
they would also be happy to send this Australian car back to their
countries.
Some were so keen they offered more than I was asking for the vehicle
because they wanted a quick deal.
A quick enquiry and they would be very happy to pay cash via Paypal and all
I had to do was send them my Paypal username email. Discussions revealed
that Paypal was the only way they could pay, because they were at sea, and
because it was a safe method of payment for me 
While the trip was interesting I did ultimately sell the car through an
online site, delivery and payment was undertaken and all were happy.
BTW – it was not sold to a Marine Engineer
