The election polling must be causing concerns for labor as it appears that
Julia Gillard is going to act more like herself and to show people what she
is really like.
This is an interesting development as by this announcement she is telling us
that she has not been herself for quite a while?
We (well I am) must be tired of the cardboard personas put up by political
leaders and the 10 second sound grabs put forward by their party advisers
and the media.
IMO it would be great if both Tony Abbott and Julia Gillard would be
themselves – they should be telling us about what they want and believe in
for this country and telling us how their leadership will carry us into the
future.
It appears to me that policy is developed by scoping groups and carefully
selected focus groups that really miss the mark in how we (I) want
politicians to communicate with us (me).
My only real concern would be that the money and the power is not with the
leaders in either party as we have recently seen with Kevin Rudd and his
removal, but is with the back room boys and girls.
Heres hoping this will signal a change for the better in the rest of the
campaign/
